New Tesla app update adds iOS 18 controls and offline commands
Tesla has released a new app update for iOS users with version 4.38.0 and it brings new app controls and offline commands to simplify the use case.
App Controls
iOS 18 comes with a redesigned control center. Unlike iOS 17, the new iOS version has different control groups to provide a new user experience. On the other hand, you can add or remove controls/shortcuts.
To do this, open the control center by swiping down from the top right side of the screen. Tap the + button on the top left side to access the controls gallery. Here you will see new Tesla app controls or search for “Tesla” in the search box.
With the latest update, the app has added seven new controls in the gallery including – Lock, Climate, Charge Port, Front, Flash, Honk, and Fart.
Tap and hold control and take to a new position in the control center. You can also rearrange the shortcut later or create a control group based on your preference. You can place them separately to get things done in two steps.
Tesla app already has one-tap solution access for such features via app widgets. The large widget also shows information about the car’s remaining battery level.
Offline Commands
You can now send offline commands to the vehicle when you are available in proximity. With this capability, you can lock/unlock the vehicle, open the charge port, and do more with added new controls. However, offline commands require your Tesla software to upgrade to 2024.38 or later.
Both new features are available with the latest app version, make sure to download it via App Store.
