Here’s our first look at Tesla Wireless Charging for Cybercab [Video]
Tesla has shared the first look at the wireless charging technology and pad used to add energy to the Cybercab autonomous vehicle.
The technology was announced at the October 10 We Robot event in California. However, the company only announced this feature without sharing the visuals.
The video published on social media site X shows this technology in action. As you can see the vehicle reversed on top of the wireless charging pad. As soon as the car detects the pad, it starts charging.
The front display interface renders this progress with an animation of transferring the energy to the battery. The vehicle will also blink the rear light bar to indicate charging status. The on-screen UI will show the charging speed as well as the remaining time in full charge.
Once charged, the vehicle will leave the pad and get back to work.

Cybercab
Tesla unveiled this new autonomous self-driving vehicle without a steering wheel or paddle. It has a wide front deck with a large screen to keep the user update with the destination and provide entertainment.
The robotaxi has two passenger seats with plenty of legroom.
During the event, the EV maker confirmed that this car will charge automatically with wireless charging. This is due to the fact the Cybercab will drive autonomously and doesn’t require human assistance to charge the battery.
Once docked, autonomous robot hands will perform cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle and prepare it for the next ride.
This cycle will continue throughout the vehicle’s daily services and such capability will facilitate the its efficiency.
Besides, Tesla also has a Robovan with a fully autonomous interface. It is possible that the van supports the same wireless charging technology which allows it to dock autonomously.
For now, Tesla has not revealed the full capacity for wireless charging, which we may see in the future.
