Tesla FSD 12.5.6 rolling out for Model 3, Y, S, and X
Tesla has released Full Self Driving (FSD) 12.5.6 for hardware 4 (AI4) Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X with the latest software build 2024.32.30.
The changelog is familiar to us due to its early release with Cybertruck a week ago. These are now expanding to most FSD users.
After this upgrade, divers can wear sunglasses while using FSD. The system will no longer trigger an attention warning and won’t disengage FSD while wearing sunglasses.
This issue has been reported by many FSD users and the company finally removed it from the system. It came in highlight after Tesla recently rolled out a vision-based driver attention monitoring system for cars with a cabin camera.
The feature now primarily relies on the inside view rather than completely focusing on wheel grip.
End-to-End Highway
Tesla has made a major change in the highway FSD experience. The car can now perform better while transitioning from city to highway. The EV maker has also improved lane-changing decisions so FSD could conduct such actions with more confidence.
Driver Profiles
When you first adjust the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, or exterior side mirrors, the touchscreen allows you to create a driver profile to save these new changes. Your profile also saves various preferences you make through your day-to-day driving habits.
FSD 12.5.6 has updated the Driver Profiles settings but specifics of the improvements are currently unknown.
Auto Set Speed
Last but not least, the new FSD has updated the Auto Set Speed to Max Speed. This could only be a name change and the rest of the options may remain the same.
FSD version 12 has added an automatic set speed offset feature that enables the car to control its speed naturally. This feature performs based on several aspects including road type, traffic flow, environment, speed limit, and FSD profile settings.
Note that this is an initial rollout and Tesla may take some time to expand FSD 12.5.6 to all AI 4 and start to release soon for HW3 (AI3) cars.
