Apple iOS 18.0.1 rolling out with fixes for bugs that has been haunting iPhones 16 models
Apple has released iOS 18.0.1 for iPhone users and it comes with several fixes for bugs causing a big disturbance in user experience for both new and existing iPhones.
iOS 18.0 was first rolled out on September 16 with various new features and personalization capabilities. However, it also unpacked some new bugs that impose a negative impact on interactions.
It usually happens with a new software release and iOS 18 is no exception. However, Apple developers have quickly tackled some critical problems and sent this new build. Here are the four key bug fixes mentioned in the iOS 18.0.1 changelog.
iPhone 16: iPhone 16 and 16 Pro users have been reporting this issue since the delivery week. Apple says all iPhone 16 models could experience temporary unresponsiveness in certain circumstances which should be fixed with this software update. However, we yet listen from iPhone 16 users whether this issue has been resolved.
Camera: iPhone 16 Pro users have been experiencing camera feeze while recording macro video on the Ultra Wide camera in 4K with HDR turned off. iOS 18.0.1 addresses this issue as well.
Messages: It fixes a bug in messages that could suddenly shut down the app while replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face.
Performance: This bug has been causing big-time trouble for previous models including iPhone 14, 13, and other eligible devices. However, Apple promises to fix this with the latest iOS release by patching memory allocation.
The latest update is rolling out for iPhone 16 Pro series and older iPhone users. You can download it by going into Settings > General > Software Update. Once downloaded you can install it right away or schedule it for the night.
