Tesla rolling out FSD 12.5.5 with End to End on highway

Tesla is seeding Full Self-Driving (FSD) 12.5.5 with end-to-end on-highway capabilities among other new improvements. This update comes a week after the FSD 12.5.4 rollout.

Update: Ashok Elluswamy from the Tesla AI team has confirmed that End to end highway is the first shipping for Cybertruck. The team is working on an initial rollout for other Tesla models and it could be released for employees by next week, followed by employees once the internal testing is completed.

End-to-end highway improves the car’s self-driving from city to highway traffic and optimizes highway experiences including speed management, highway assists, and more.

Tesla has been developing this combined software stack capability for quite some time and it could have major implications on self-driving experience. We’ll have to wait until the user review comes and reveals more about the new end-to-end on the highway.

The company first announced this upgrade with FSD 12.5’s initial release but it took to roll it out for users. This is the first wave rollout and will take time to reach all eligible vehicles.

In the meantime, this new FSD version is bundled with vision-based attention monitoring with sunglasses. This addition will not trigger a warning when you wear sunglasses while FSD is engaged.

FSD is a self-driving technology designed by Tesla. It utilizes feedback from cameras and sensors around the vehicle to drive on-road and detect vehicles, humans, and objects to react in real time.

The current state of FSD development only allows supervised self-driving. This means a driver must sit in the front seat to monitor all maneuvers and traffic conditions. This is required to take wheel control in any complicated situation.

Its version 12 has the most advanced and improved driving experience and continues to see new developments to add new features.

Features such as smart summon, autopark, and related capabilities are returning to FSD users, which have been disabled in the past.
