Sony Honda announces Tesla NACS support for AFEELA EVs

Sony Honda Mobility has announced an agreement with Tesla to adapt the NACS charging system for its AFEELA electric vehicles (EVS) for the US and Japan.

NACS or North American Charging Standard is Tesla’s open Supercharger network for other car makers. Tesla currently operates the largest EV charger fleet with more than 60,000 Superchargers.

The Japanese carmaker will sell AFEELA NACS-enabled models in 2025 and will be available first for customers in the US, followed by Japan. With this agreement, Honda becomes the first company to support NACS in its EVs in Japan with access V3 and V4 superchargers.

AFEELA EV model will start pre-orders in the first half of 2025 in the US and the sale will start in the same year. The deliveries for this EV will begin in Spring 2026 for US customers and in the second half for Japan.

In addition to Sony Honda, major automakers have already announced a partnership with Tesla to use its charging network in North America Earlier this year, Ford rolled out NACS adapters for its EVs, followed by Rivian and other car makers.
