Rivian has launched the Gear Guard Live Cam feature for the first and second generation of Rivian R1S and R1T electric vehicles. Gear Guard Live Cam enables these model owners to access the car’s surroundings when parked in a busy location or a parking lot when the owner is away.

This feature utilizes vehicle’s onboard camera system to view live feeds and monitor the situation both inside and outside.

The app will trigger an alarm in case of any trespassing or person trying to interact with the vehicle. Users can immediately tune into the Rivian mobile app and check the live footage from anywhere.

You can switch views with in-app controls and maximize any of the camera angles you would like to see in detail.

Tesla Sentry Mode

The feature works like Tesla’s Sentry mode, which provides security around the vehicle and alerts the owner when it detects an unknown activity nearby.

Once alarmed, the car will pulse headlights, sound an alarm display a message on the touchscreen to alert anyone outside, and send a notification.
