“Join us for We, Robot – Our official unveiling of the future of autonomy,” wrote Tesla in the invitation sent to selected people.

Attendees will have to fill out an RSVP before midnight on Sunday, October 6, 2024, to attend the event. Similar to previous launch events, there’s not enough space to hold many people at the unveiling venue.

Therefore, the company will issue tickets based on seat availability. Once confirmed, Tesla will send a confirmation email to selected people with a ticket to attend the Robotaxi event.

It is also announced that these tickets are non-transferable, which means only the invited person will be checked through doors with their official identification ID.

Anyone invited by Tesla must be 21+ to attend the unveiling and the age will also be confirmed via any official personal ID document. The door will open at 5:00 PM and check-in will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by the remarks at 7:00 PM.

Robotaxi:

Tesla has been developing new low-cost EV projects since last year. Later, the hype for such an EV turned into a full-blown Robotaxi product, confirmed by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk himself.

Autonomous vehicles are the future of autonomous mobility and transportation and Tesla wants to tap into this business due to its vast knowledge in self-driving technology.

The company is operating its Full Self Driving (FSD) in many cars on-road. However, the current version of FSD is supervised, which means it requires a driver in the front seat to monitor the self-driving maneuvers and take the wheel when required.

However, the concept of Robotaxi differs as it operates on its own as an autonomous vehicle. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Tesla will go all out and bring an unsupervised FSD-powered Robotaxi or a Supervised one (which won’t make sense).
