Hyundai has launched a 2025 IONIQ 5 N electric vehicle in South Korea with new performance upgrades over the previous generation.

The model introduces new signal monitoring logic for judging drift conditions including vehicle behavior and road surface changes has been improved.

The previously unselected control stages have been subdivided into 10 stages. These will enable the driver to select the drift assistance level based on driving experience.

Specifically, the car is a Pro mode that minimizes vehicle dynamic control (VDC) and linearly adjusts the driving torque to provide optimized performance. This EV introduced downshift memory and downhill assist features to IONIQ 5 N’s virtual shifting system called “N e-Shift”.

The downshift memory feature stores the command without shifting when the vehicle is driven before the engine speed for downshifting is within the allowable engine speed during circuit driving and then shifts when the allowable engine speed is reached.

To improve stability, the downhill assist prevents the vehicle from rolling down a slope too quickly when downshifting similar to engine braking in internal combustion engine counterparts.

2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N comes with a new Eco mode featuring the N e-Shift feature, in addition to existing Normal, Sport, and N Modes.

Other improvements to the car are intelligent headlamps (IFS) with adaptive high beams and a walk-away lock feature that automatically locks the car’s doors when you distance away from the with a smart key.
