OpenAI increases rate limits for 01-preview and 01-mini models

OpenAI has announced an increase in rate limits for 01-preview and 01-mini to improve the use case for these freshly released language models.

Last week, the AI company launched the 01 model family. These are designed specifically to complete tasks and hard problems for science, coding, and maths. Therefore, these are trained differently from the GPT language model.

These two can be used by various users and industries to improve data processing and overall efficiency. The first preview is available for ChatGPT Plus and team users. Initially, the model had a weekly rate limit of 30 messages for 01-preview and 50 for 01-mini.

The new limit enables 01-mini users to use 50 messages per day, upgrading from 50 messages a week. On the other hand, the 01-preview users can now use 50 messages per week instead of 30.

The company pointed out that 01-preview is ‘more expensive’ to serve.

OpenAI also announced that it’s working on a free 01-mini model, which will be launched soon for ChatGPT users. However, there’s no specific date available in this matter.
