Waymo brings Robotaxi services to Austin and Atlanta

Waymo and Uber have announced Robotaxi services to Austin and Atlanta. People in these cities will be able to access Waymo Driver with the Uber app starting in early 2025.

Uber will manage Waymo’s autonomous Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicles in these two cities will increase to more than a hundred. Riders with UberX, Uber Green, Uber Comfort, or Uber Comfort Electric may be matched with a Waymo for qualifying trips.

Waymo is an autonomous driving tech company and its cars are powered by Waymo One, an autonomous ride-hailing service. It has recorded more than 100,000 trips each week across San Fransisco, Phoneix, and Los Angeles.

The company has completed more than two million rider-only trips and over 10 million on public roads across 13+ US states.

Through this offer, Uber will provide fleet management services including vehicle cleaning, repair, and other depot operations.
