Tesla announces FSD 12.5.2 for AI3/AI4 and new features

Tesla has officially announced the FSD 12.5.2 roadmap for Full Self-Driving (FSD) including various new features coming right to the users.

A few days ago, Tesla shipped FSD 12.5.3 for selected users and it comes with Actually Smart Summon. The version was a direct upgrade from FSD 12.5.1, skipping 12.5.2.

However, the roadmap shows that the company has plans to release v12.5.2. The release will improve HW4 (AI4) models for miles between necessary interventions by 3 times.

12.5.2 on HW3 models will be unified with HW4 (AI4). This will be a major change and future branches will be available for both hardware simultaneously.

Tesla has been testing FSD 12 with AI4 since the beginning due to its advanced technologies and hardware capabilities. On the other hand, it has been developing code to unify AI3 with AI4. Last month, the EV maker confirmed that it is testing the new FSD version and validating it for public availability.

A few days ago, FSD 12.5.1.x debuted on some AI3 cars for the first time and rolled out in a wide wave.

Achieving parity between the two hardware will be a key to sending major upcoming features. That includes Actually Smart Summon, which is currently available only to a limited number of users.

Other than that, There are some pending features such as Autopark for Cybertruck electric pickup truck. Last month, it received a park assist feature and the upcoming capability will help it park automatically.

The vision-based driver monitoring system will get an upgrade with an eye-tracking exemption for sunglasses. An end-to-end network on the highway is also in the pipeline for this month.

Last but not least, FSD for Cybertruck is coming as well, which has been missing from this vehicle since the first day of delivery.
