Tesla has officially announced that the FSD launch could happen in Europe and China in the first quarter of 2025. An FSD roadmap confirmed that the license approval in both markets is pending.

FSD is a self-driving technology that allows a Tesla to drive automatically on-road in different scenarios. However, the current FSD version is supervised and requires a driver behind the wheel to take control in complex situations.

The EV maker is currently operating FSD in the US, Canada, and other eligible markets. However, its official release is still awaited in Europe and China due to complicated traffic regulations.

In April this year, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla visited China to oversee the process regarding FSD release and met with top Chinese officials.

During the Q2 2024 earning call, Musk said the company will file a regulatory license approval for FSD by this year. However, he didn’t share the status of the process.
