Tesla is now rolling out FSD 12.5.3 for HW3 models and it comes with a brand new Actually Smart Summon and Dumb Summon features. Also, not it’s a limited rollout so, HW3 users will have to wait for a wide release in the coming weeks.

Smart Summon allows you to bring your vehicle toward your position automatically. On the other hand, Dumb Summon will let you move the car back and forth with press and hold button operation on the mobile app.

Since the V12 release, Tesla has been testing new FSD builds with HW4 (AI4) due to its advanced hardware and technologies. On the other hand, HW3 owners are also getting new FSD updates but with older versions.

In late July, the EV maker confirmed that development is underway for FSD 12.5 for HW3. It’s explained that there’s a different code for HW3, which requires a separate development.

Furthermore, the software and hardware compatibility needs to be validated for optimum performance in real-world scenarios.

Ashok Elluswamy from the Tesla AI and Autopilot team said the compatibility part is still in development and better results can be achieved in comparison to HW4.

The team involved in this development is verifying new changes and preparing solutions to run the latest FSD version at the same time in both hardware.

However, releasing the new version for HW3 on the same day as HW4 shows that massive progress has already been made on this matter.
