It has some new changes in hardware compatibility and is based on a vision system instead of previous sensors and radar.

There’s not much has been changed compared to the previous function. It allows you to bring the car to your location with a mobile app. You need to set a target and press and hold the on-screen buttons to move.

Throughout its way to the destination, the car will maneuver and stop when required. It will also show live views from the car’s cameras.

On the other side, the dumb summon will bring you simple on-screen controls to move the car forward and backward.

Both HW4 and HW3 users have confirmed this rollout with smart summon. However, this may be the first wave of software release and more FSD users will have to wait for the next.

Meanwhile, it’s hard to tell whether the company is considering a rapid rollout for HW3 or will have to settle with a staged upgrade.
