Tesla is planning a cinema-like unveiling for its Robotaxi event at Warner Bros. movie studio in the Los Angeles area according to a new report.

This venue expands to more than a 110-acre lot with 29 sound stages and is used for famous movies and shows. The event was initially planned for August 8 but postponed to October 10 due to some design-related changes.

Since last year, Tesla has been teasing a cheap electric vehicle (EV) launching in 2025 and the priority has taken a different route. Instead of a cheap model, the company will focus on self-driving robotaxi.

In the past two years, Robotaxi has gained massive momentum in the ride-hailing segment. People can order a ride and it will arrive autonomously at their location. Then it can drive the passenger autonomously to their destination.

Alphabet’s Waymo and GM’s Cruise are two of the most recognized names in this industry. However, there’s a huge space for new players like Tesla.

Despite its new commercial status, the EV maker already has self-driving technology known as Full Self Driving (FSD). Its latest FSD version 12 has been the most advanced self-driving tech.

Robotaxis are all about their software and Tesla has this problem resolved already. Now it has to work on the design and final assembly.

In July this year, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said some important changes are being made to the prototype for the showcase. The extended time will allow the company to demonstrate a few more things.
