New Shepard aces Blue Origin’s NS-26 crew mission

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Blue Origin completed the New Shepard 26 (NS-26) human flight. The rocket lifted off from Launch Site One in West Texas at 8:07:03 am CDT and 13:07:03 UTC.

Following this phase, the flight reached the destined altitude and separated from the crew capsule. During the course of this mission, the crew capsule reached an apogee of 342,314 ft AGL / 345,961 ft MSL (104 km AGL / 105 km MSL).

On the other hand, the booster reached an apogee of 341,985 ft AGL / 345,632 ft MSL (104 km AGL / 105 km MSL). After completing the mission objective, the crew capsule landed on Earth at 8:17:11 AM CDT / 13:17:11 UTC and was recovered by the Blue Origin team.

Prior to the capsule, the booster made a landing on the landing zone autonomously to get ready for reflight.

The mission lasted 10 minutes and 8 seconds with a max ascent velocity of 2,238 mph/3,602 km per hour.

The crew consisted of Nicolina Elrick, Rob Ferl, Eugene Grin, Dr. Eiman Jahangir, Karsen Kitchen, and Ephraim Rabin.
