Apple is now rolling out iOS 18.1 Beta 3 for developers and early beta testers and it comes with a Clean Up feature that will help you to remove objects from an image.

The company is testing this new build in order to prepare all smart features for Apple Intelligence. However, it will be limited to only a few devices including iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max from previous releases.

Apple intelligence brings a range of new capabilities designed with generative AI. You will be able to rewrite text content with system-suggested language and change its tone on the go.

The company has advanced Siri and improved its reasoning to provide a new experience. Also, it has received a UI overhaul for a brand new look. Messages will bring a new generative image feature to help you send custom stickers and emojis on the go.

Some of these features are still missing from the latest beta but the new Clean Up will help to get creative with photographs.

The Clean Up feature lets you erase a particular area in an image and fill it with a matching background. The end image looks like the erased object has never been there.

This feature is part of the photo editor app and is placed on the right side of the Crop icon. You need to tap Clean Up and select the object by brushing over it. Once selected, the phone will identify the selected object and highlight it before it vanishes from the image.

Such features are gaining popularity among consumers. For example, Pixel devices have a Magic Eraser in the Photos app and you can remove a selected object by drawing a circle around it.
