Apple has been installing iOS 18 on iPhone 16 series devices throughout the past weeks to prepare for shipments says Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The Cupertino-based tech company will hold the “It’s Glowing” event on September 9 and the showcase will be led by the iPhone 16 series. It will consist of four models – standard, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max.

These devices will use new chipsets with improved performance and new camera lenses for better camera quality. The standard version will bring a new camera design change and the Pro models will offer new display sizes.

The software will bring some new changes compared to iOS 17. That includes a new control center with better customizations and personalization for the home screen. iOS 18 will be available for all devices up to the iPhone SE model.

A previous report revealed that the iPhone 16 series will run iOS 18.0 out of the box and the company will seed iOS 18.1 over the air (OTA). This is due to the fact that iOS 18.1 will introduce Apple Intelligence.

It is designed for recent iPhones with the latest chipsets including the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max along with the iPhone 16 lineup.
