Polestar 4 makes sales debut in Europe

Swedish car maker Polestar has started the first sales of Polestar 4 electric vehicle (EV) in Europe, expanding the car lineup from one to three cars.

The company has already started delivery of Polestar 4 in China and is continuously increasing its presence in the global market. Polestar 4 has made a debut in Europe including Germany, Norway, and Sweden. An expansion to more markets is planned for the coming weeks.

In June this year, the company delivered the first deliveries for Polestar 3 at Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The company launched this coupe in early 2023 and production started in the same year. It competes against the Porsche Mecan EV, BMW iX3/X4, and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. The car brings a traditional rear window for occupant space and headroom and a digital rear-view mirror to replace the conventional setup.

The resulting rear passenger compartment has reclining rear seats and a cosseting cabin. The interior has recycled plastics and Mobileye’s SuperVision advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It has two motor variants including a single and dual motor with an all-wheel and rear-wheel drivetrain.

The dual motor version can output 400kW power including 544hp and 686 Nm torque. It can accelerate 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and 200km/h top speed. The single motor variant brings 200kW output with 343nm torque and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.1 seconds. The car can deliver up to 200 km/h top speed.

In terms of range, the dual motor model brings up to 590 km WLTP and 300 miles EPA range with 39 kWh energy consumption. The single motor provides 620 km WLTP and 270 miles EPA range.

You can charge the battery at an expansion capacity of 200kW, going 10% to 80% within 30 minutes max.
