Audi’s Philipp Romers joins Polestar with 25 years of experience

Polestar has officially announced that a veteran Audi executive – Philipp Romers is joining the Swedish electric vehicle maker.

Philipp has been involved in automotive design for the past 25 years and was appointed by German car maker Audi. There he was serving different job roles including head of exterior design. Prior to this, he was a lead designer at Audi’s parent Volkswagen.

He will serve in Polestar as Head of Design, a role held by Maximilian Missoni for the past 6 years. Maximilian joined the Swedish company in 2018 from Volvo Cars where he was Vice President of Exterior Design and Chief Designer of Exterior for over 8 years.

“Polestar is the role model of a design-driven automotive company and it’s a great honor to take on the responsibility for the Design department. I’m looking forward to working with the creative team to design the next generation of Polestar cars” said Philipp.

“I thank Max for his leadership and companionship during the inception of Polestar as Europe’s only pure EV brand,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.

Yesterday, Polestar started the first deliveries of its new Polestar 4 coupe in Europe with limited markets while preparing for an expansion in the near future.

On the other hand, the company is working on two new EVs that will launch in 2026. It includes Polestar 4 an electric four-door GT and Polestar 6 electric roadster.
