Apple has partnered with Foxconn as a supplier and has invested more than $1.4 billion to assemble iPhones in the country.

The Cupertino-based tech firm has used its production capacity to make standard iPhones. This move follows tax relaxation and incentives from the Indian government under the “Make in India” initiative to attract foreign investment in the manufacturing sector.

Apple has been indulged in conversation with the Indian government to step up its efforts by producing devices locally. Still, the iPhone maker heavily relies on China to make most of its devices. However, the company is diversifying its supply chain based on the recent growth in the Indian market.

Apple’s India operations have exceeded $23 billion in value for the fiscal year 2024. The company collected $8 billion in revenue from the market last fiscal year.
