Apple is resending iOS 17.6.1 OTA update
Apple is resending the iOS 17.6.1 software update for iPhone users with build version 21G101 upgrading from 21G93. The company sent the first version a week ago with new system improvements.
You can check for this version via the Settings app. From here, go to General > Software update and then download and install the latest software. Once downloaded the iPhone will restart and begin the installation.
This update bug fixes and improves the device’s performance. On the other hand, it addresses an issue found in the Advanced Data Protection feature. A couple of users reported issues with enabling or disabling this setting. Unfortunately, there are no other changes found in this update.
The company is testing the iOS 18 developer and public beta to prepare for a stable release. Until then, it’s focusing on fixing all of the system issues and making iPhones compatible with the upcoming upgrade.
Therefore, these new software builds are coming with new patches for previous software releases as well as future rollout.
We’re a month away from the stable iOS 18 release. In the meantime, Apple could start testing iOS 17.6.2 in advance with a few more improvements and optimizations.
