Tesla has launched a new textile interior for Model 3 rear-wheel drive (RWD) and there are some changes made to all of the features and its material.

Now, customers can only bundle the Model 3 RWD with this new interior option and the rest of the variants can be selected from black and white interiors.

Tesla brought ambient lighting with the upgraded Model 3 last year as one of the key features. You can set the light intensity and color to improve the driving experience.

However, RWD Model 3 will now only offer white ambient light compared to customizable multi-color ambient lighting in Long Range and Performance.

Heated seats, cooled seats, and heated steering wheel are also removed from the grey interior. These are packaged with black and white interior options. Heating and cooling are one of the major concerns for customers and these help to enable extra comfort for the driver in different weather.

The new Model 3 also made headlines when it was announced with a passenger seat screen. It is interaction and enables passengers to watch media to remain entertained during their journey. This has also been removed from the textile interior, as you can now only get two USB C ports and ventilation.

It will bring 9 speakers and 1 amplifier compared to 17 speakers, 2 subwoofers, and 2 amplifiers in black/white interior. Last but not least, the acoustic glass is used only for the front windows.

These are some major cuts inside and from the price point of view, the change doesn’t seem to reflect much of the drop. Still, it’s about 118,000 Mexican pesos lower than the long-range, which costs 879,000 pesos as of August 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, this option is limited to only a few markets and has not appeared in the US.
