Tri-Motor 2025 Rivian R1 will begin delivery by the end of this year
Rivian will deliver the 2025 R1 series with a tri-motor by the end of this year confirms the electric vehicle (EV) maker during the second quarter 2024 earning call.
“We’ll have sales of our Tri-Motors in Q4, which will allow us to stretch up the higher end of ASPs to complement our starting price point, which is still $69,900 for our Standard packs for R1T.” said Rivian official.
In June this year, Rivian introduced a refreshed R1 series with new vehicle performance, tweaked exterior, and better software experience.
The 2025 R1S and R1T bring a dynamic glass roof that can be tinted electronically. Interior lighting in the cabin can be customized with a spectrum of colors. The company has redesigned the software user interface using Unreal Engine with various illustrations and real-time graphics.
The new R1 series brings more performance to users with newly built drive units in tri-motor and quad-motor configurations. The R1 Ascend tri max version has two motors in the rear and one in the front.
It can ramp up 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds, provide up to 380 miles of estimated range, 1103 lb-ft torque, and 850hp horsepower. The tri-motor Rivian R1 is available to order via the official website but the delivery date is 3-6 months.
It has new large and max battery packs with redesigned modules and energy efficiency. It’s estimated up to 420 miles of range and customers can also opt for a new lithium iron phosphate-based standard pack with EPA 270 miles range in other variants.
Meanwhile, Rivian is already delivering the dual motor R1 models to customers. Other than these, Rivian also has a quad motor variant, which can accelerate 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds, 1,198 lb-ft torque, and a boost of 1,026 hp.
However, quad max is only available for booking at $3,000 (refundable) and its deliveries will start in 2025.
