Tesla Announces Summer 2024 Software Update Features
Tesla has announced a Summer 2024 software update for its electric vehicles (EVs) and has shared details about the new features coming with this release.
The company has confirmed that these features will be bundled with the 2024.26 software version and will start to rollout soon for customers.
It is bringing Amazon Music and YouTube Music to Tesla cars as native apps. These two platforms have millions of music albums and you can access them right into your EV.
Cast Doombad game now supports touch and includes the complete original game. New content is added to Polytopia Elyrion and Vampire Survivors “Laboratory”.
One of the most awaited features “Parental Controls” is also coming to users. Parents can now set:
- Max speed limit
- Reduce acceleration and set it to Chill
- Require safety settings such as speed limit warning, forward collision warning, and more
- Send curfew notifications when the car is driven between 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM
Tesla is improving navigation with search results now displaying sub-destinations such as a specific terminal at the airport for an accurate route selection.
You can view additional weather forecast details when you tap on temperature. An indicator will appear in the status bar to show poor air quality.
One time schedule option is added to scheduled preconditioning and charging. With that, you can adjust your schedule for each day and set a charge and end time.
Interestingly, the update carries a new brightness slider for ambient lighting to adjust the brightness based on your preference.
You can now reduce fan speed to decrease background noise to facilitate tasks such as phone calls. There’s also a redesign for the climate control on Model 3 and Y. It is now more interactive than ever.
Customers using Zoom can broadcast a conference full screen when the party is in the Park. Furthermore, you can now fetch TeslaMic in the US to test your signing skills. Lastly, FSD Supervised 12.3.6 can be installed for MCU1 (Tegra) EV models.
This summer 2024 software update for Tesla models will be released in batches and it may take some time to cover all vehicles.
