Tesla is still developing Smart Summon, may release with FSD 12.5.x
Tesla is still working on the Smart Summon feature for Full Self Driving (FSD), which could be released with the upcoming 12.5 software build.
Smart Summon is designed to move your Tesla to your location or a location of your selection. It can maneuver automatically and pass through objects in the way. With this capability, the car can step out of the parking space and around corners.
However, this capability is currently limited or inactive in Tesla cars after the vision system upgrade. The company is checking the stability of its accuracy to make it available for all users.
But the rollout is being delayed, repeatedly. In March, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla said “Major improvements coming for Summon & Banish (Autopark) next month”. In the following month, Tesla didn’t follow this statement.
In May, the Tesla chief once again mentioned that smart summon is coming soon. As of today, there are no new releases packed with these two features for FSD users.
Musk now gave a new deadline for Actually Smart Summon + a tiny explanation. He said that the company is managing a separate code for smart summon. It means the code requires separate development but there’s a possibility that it could be bundled with FSD 12.5.x.
While suggesting a rollout date, Musk said smart Summon could be released next month. Meanwhile, users can only wait for their part and see what happens.
