Samsung to enter iPhone 17 camera supply chain
Samsung is likely to gain a spot in next year’s iPhone 17 series supply chain to supply a camera module reports analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo says that the South Korean tech company will begin to ship a 1/2.6-inch 48 MP ultra-wide angle camera to Apple. This shipment will cover the model released in 2026 but it can be delayed.
It’s expected that the ultra-wide angle will get an upgrade this year with the iPhone 16 series and expand it to 48MP. Apple and Sony have long been in partnership for camera lenses but the company may diversify some of its requirements to other companies.
Samsung is already in business with Apple as a primary display supplier for iPhones. That makes sense as the company has something new to offer to the iPhone maker.
Kuo also reported Samsung organized a team to serve Apple and mark this deal. However, that’s all the veteran analyst have to say on this matter.
A few days ago, iPhone 17 series specifications were leaked online including Pro models with triple 48MP cameras. Other than that, the front will upgrade with a 24MP selfie camera.
Apple will release the iPhone 17 series in the second half of 2026 and you can check more details linked below.
