Tesla Roadster launch is still awaited but the company is apparently focusing on development and adding new features before it enters full production.

During the second quarter of 2024 earning call webcast, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said that the company has completed most of the engineering surrounding this model.

However, the team is upgrading the design to make sense of its name and provide all capabilities for better performance. While talking about the production, the CEO speculates that the Tesla Roadster could enter production next year.

Despite years of anticipation and hype, the Tesla model continues to be delayed due to design and technological reasons.

Earlier this year, Musk reignited the conversation and said that the EV maker is working on a new Roadster model that could be released as early as next year. He also talked about the product demo but has not revealed a date for the unveiling event.

In March, a new lead suggested that this model use technology from space launch vehicle maker SpaceX. This collaboration was also rumored before but there are no specifics available.

“It’s going to have some rocket technology in it. I think the only way to do something cooler than Cybertruck is to combine Tesla and SpaceX technology to create something that’s not even really a car. [..] Something that’s never existed before.” Musk explained.
