Tesla rolls out vehicle battery saver app update
Tesla has released a new 4.35.0 app update with a new vehicle battery saver improvement. After this upgrade, the app will only wake the vehicle when you send a command.
Battery efficiency is a key factor for electric vehicles (EV), that’s all they rely on to power up features. It’s also related to the car’s driving range.
In the past, the Tesla app (when launched) would wake the car to fetch the latest information such as range, climate, lock/unlock status, and more. This will happen even if you are not engaging with any of the car’s features but the app is opened. This wake-up scenario will cost a small amount of battery from the charged level.
The new app update will show you the last known state of your car and possibly a message to inform you how long it has been asleep. This will remain in the same state until you send a command to get the new information.
In this scenario, the command would be range information, all you need to do is tap on a specific button or refresh the app.
This is a good improvement for Tesla owners and you can get the new version right away from App Store. The company has also released a new version for Android but there’s no clarification on whether this capability is released for Android users.
