Rivian has released the 2.12.0 version of its iOS app and it comes with two new homescreen widgets for improved access.

Both widgets are small in size, the first widget allows users to view the drive range at a glance along with a few options. The second widget has vehicle control including climate, vehicle lock/unlock, and a button to open the frunk. This widget too comes with range statics.

The company has tweaked the large widget to show a charging indicator, while the rest of the control stays as usual.

Adding a widget is super easy, tap and hold on an empty space in the home screen and wait until the icons start to jiggle. Now press the + icon on the top left corner of the screen and search for “Rivian” or scroll down to find its widget collection. You can select a small or large widget based on your preference.

Furthermore, R1 and R2 reservations will now appear in the app and redirect to the official Rivian website to learn more about these products. The new compact widgets and optimizations will help to improve the owner’s experience.

Last month, the electric vehicle (EV) company retouched the app with a new look. It added new live activity for cabin climate when it’s running in the background. You can create a trailer profile to get more accurate trip plans. The update also enables you to add or swap out a charging stop on your trip for a customized route.
