Tesla brings €2,950 bonus subsidy on Model Y in the Netherlands

Tesla has announced a bonus subsidy for Model Y Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) inventory models in the Netherlands to match government subsidiary.

Electric Passenger Cars Private Individual Subsidy (SEPP) was launched in January this year and will be available through December 2024. As the name suggests, SEPP enables private individuals to claim subsidies on a new electric passenger car.

Buyers can claim up to €2,950 on a new and €2,000 on a used car. The government has allocated €58 million to support EV adaptation and spent €27 million from this fund. As of July 15, 2024, there’s still more than 50% left from this grant about €30 million.

SEPP includes a list of eligible cars and brands. These should range between €12,000 and €45,000 to claim a subsidy.

Both Model 3 and Model Y are listed as eligible. Unlike Model 3, Model Y’s RWD doesn’t seem to comply with the price cap, which starts at €45,990. Therefore, Tesla is offering its bonus on the pre-configured model.

The EV maker is giving away €2,950 on Model Y RWD inventory. Buyers need to place an order between July 9 and August 31, 2024. Also, the delivery must be taken before September 30, 2024.

Some of these inventory models start at just over €42,350, which makes them eligible for SEPP credit. It means that customers can benefit from the Tesla bonus and the SEPP to save a combined subsidy of €5,900.

Other than Tesla, SEPP required customers to meet some terms including the buyer’s need to be a private individual and have a valid residential address in the Netherlands. This offer can only be claimed for once if the application is accepted.

Furthermore, the new car should be registered in the purchaser’s name after 1 January 2024. the car should have at least 120 kilometers of WLTP, which is perfect for both Model 3 and Model Y.
