BMW achieve EV sales growth in the first half of 2024

BMW said it has delivered 179,557 fully electric vehicles (EVs) in the first half of 2024. The deliveries account for more than a 34.1 percent increase in battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales compared to the same period last year.

“In the first six months of the year, we saw double-digit growth of our fully-electric vehicles and models from the upper premium segments,” said Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales.

During the second quarter, BMW Group sold 146,483 electrified models with an 8.5 percent improvement compared to the same quarter in 2023. On the other hand, BEV sales accounted for 107,933 in the 2nd quarter with a 22.2 percent increase compared to Q2 2023.

Meanwhile, the company has not provided sales data individually for each model. You should know that the sales figure includes all BMW Group brands.

In the first quarter, the company sold 82,700 electric BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles in the global market. These numbers represent 27.9 percent BEV growth. Between January and March, the company sold 78,691 of the BMW i4, BMW iX3, BMW iX1, BMW iX and BMW i7.

The carmaker plans to expand its electric vehicle lineup through 2024 to improve its sales outlook not only in customer but commercial lineup.
