Hyundai Inster EV opens pre-orders at $22.7k in Korea
Hyundai Motors has opened pre-orders for the Inster compact electric vehicle (EV) in South Korea starting at 31.5 million won ($22,772). The model was unveiled late last month at the Busan Mobility Show.
This introductory price is revealed without any EV tax benefits. However, the car can only get these incentives once the eco-friendly vehicle registration is completed and it could take the price down to 29.9 million won ($21,616).
However, Hyundai expects this model to go down even further at 20 million won ($14,450) with government and local government subsidies. This price would be super affordable for people who want to fetch a new electric car.
The carmaker will also host this new EV at a large-scale exhibition in Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 10 days from Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 21. This EV comes with a 180mm wheelbase compared to the fuel base Casper sibling. It has improved legroom in the second row and increased 100mm trunk length.
Its interior has a 10.25-inch color LCD cluster and ambient light to improve the driving experience. Inster equips a 48kWh NCM battery with 315 km of driving range on a single charge. It can fast charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
Inster EV supports indoor/outdoor V2L to supply 200V power for external devices and equipment. V2L feature has 3.5KW power consumption to easily power many home appliances and electronic devices. Hyundai has installed safety features including forward collision-avoidance assist, lane assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning, forward vehicle departure alert, and speed limit reminder.
It has a black high-glossy radiator grille, 15-inch alloy wheels, tires, LED daytime running lights, and body-colored exterior mirrors. Hyundai Inster will bring a metal-painted skid plate, rear disc brakes, auxiliary brake lights, and aero-type wipers.
Customers will also get some key features including a regen brake system, electronic shift column, heat pump system, battery conditioning, and integrated driving modes. After its pre-orders, Hyundai Inster will be available for all customers in Korea.
After its wide availability in Korea, Hyundai will also launch this EV in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
