SpaceX and NASA teams have completed the launch readiness review and confirmed the schedule for Tuesday. However, the weather is only 30 percent favorable for this liftoff, which is not a good sign. The rocket has sufficient power to liftoff through clouds.

However, there’s a strong possibility of choosing a backup launch opportunity if the weather declines. The launch team also shared primary concerns including the Cumulus Cloud Rule, Anvil Cloud Rules, and Surface Electric Fields Rule.

GOES-U is the fourth and final weather monitoring satellite by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It will observe two kinds of weather – Earth and Space weather. These satellites provide critical data of the Western Hemisphere including the eastern Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The data helps scientists and researchers to issue warnings and forecast weather for billions of people.

Once deployed, the satellite will orbit above the Earth’s equator at approximately 35,700 km and provide real-time high-resolution imagery. The weather satellite carries a range of space weather instruments to detect solar storms early and help to assess their impact.
