SpaceX launches new Direct to Cell Satellites from California (June 23, 2024)
On June 23, 2024, SpaceX sent a new Falcon 9 rocket mission to low-Earth orbit carrying 13 new Direct to Cell and 7 Starlink communication satellites to expand this constellation. Earlier today, the company also launched 23 Starlink satellites from Florida.
Direct to Cell capability enables smartphones and other smart devices to provide satellite connectivity without any hardware upgrade or add-on. The latest launch was conducted from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Station in California.
Following the liftoff, the vehicle reached max q and stage separation.

Afterward, the booster maneuvered and landed on the droneship. This was the 11th flight for the first stage booster and it previously supported SDA-0A, SARah-2, and 8 Starlink missions.
