Starlink Mini is a new portable satellite internet terminal designed with a compact form factor that could fit in a backpack and set it apart from the standard terminal.

According to the official specifications, the Starlink Mini is 11.75 inches (298.5 mm) tall, 10.2 inches (259 mm) wide, and 1.45 inches (38.5 mm) thick. These dimensions make the device easy to carry just like an iPad.

Standard dish on the other hand comes with a 15.07-inch width, 23.4-inch height, and 1.5-inch thickness. These parameters decline in height and width in the Mini dish but only minor changes are made to the thickness.

With its reduced size, the Mini terminal weighs 1.10 kg, 1.16kg with a kickstand, and 1.53 kg with a kickstand + 15 m cable. The standard version weighs 2.9 kg and 3.2kg with a kickstand, which is more than half the weight cut in the latest terminal.

The field of view is 110 degrees, with an inbuilt electronic phased array antenna, and software-assisted manual orientation. The dish has an IP67 type 4 environmental rating with a DC power cable and Starlink plug/cable installed. The operational wind speed is 96 kph+, operation temperature at -30 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees F to 122 degrees F).

Starlink Mini is also power efficient with 25-40w on average consumption compared to 75-100W in the standard dish. That’s up to three times power efficiency. The terminal has a 12-48V 60W input rating and 100W PD requirement with a USB-C to barrel jack cable.
