Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer program will launch again for one more quarter announced CEO Elon Musk at the 2024 Stockholders Meeting in Texas.

This program enables Tesla customers to transfer FSD to a new Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. Once transferred, the old vehicle loses this self-driving capability.

To participate in this process, a customer needs to be a legal owner of a Tesla model with FSD at the time of the delivery of a new car. The FSD from your existing vehicle will be removed within 48 hours of new vehicle delivery and will be added within a week.

During the first quarter of 2024 earning call, Tesla’s chief denied the possibility of making the FSD transfers permanent with a clear “No”. Musk during his address to stockholders said that the process of managing FSD transfer is complex and stops the EV maker from continuing this practice.

Eventually, Musk agreed to put transfers on board for an entire quarter but no date was revealed about the availability.

In February Tesla opened FSD transfers for Model 3, S, X, and Y until March 31, 2024, and again allowed customers to transfer FSD in April for a short time.

You should know that FSD transfers cannot be reserved after you accept the agreement and can be transferred once. Customers will not get cash redemption or assign it to another person or vehicle.
