iOS 18: Developer Beta, Public Beta, Stable Release Date

Apple released the iOS 18 operating system at the WWDC 2024 on June 10 and brought a range of new features for iPhones. This next-generation iOS upgrade will be available for the following devices:

The new iOS version brings the ability to rearrange apps and widgets wherever you want on the home screen. It brings new app icons and widgets with a dark look. You can apply a tint on these icons with any color while enlarging them for a better view.

The new iOS has an app lock feature with Face ID to open or show content in other apps. The app content will not appear in notification previews or spotlight.

A major upgrade comes as the control center with quick control groups. You can access them way better than iOS 17 and adjust their size based on your preference. Moreover, the control panel can be edited with a control gallery. You can pick a control button from the gallery and put it in the control center.

The photos app getting a new feature to organize the library, edit photos, and check new moments. Messages app on the other hand will let you be more creative while texting to your contacts including text styling and tap back with any emojis. The mail app uses intelligence to sort out emails in four different categories to keep the mail app clean.

Release date

  • Developer Beta is available now for all Apple developers and can download the iOS 18 developer beta via OTA. However, this beta phase requires a developer account.
  • Public Beta – will be available by next month (July). This means it will be coming for all users who want to test the iOS 18 until a full-fledged release.
  • Stable – iOS 18 will be released for all iPhone users in fall 2024.
