Ford CEO, Jim Farley promoted iOS 18 and its redesigned control center feature on the social media site X a day after Apple’s annual developer conference.

Apple unveiled the iOS 18 operating system at the WWDC 24 conference. During the keynote, Apple Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi demonstrated iOS 18’s control center with a new level of customization.

The redesign distributes controls to separate groups including media playback, home controls, and connectivity. This provides seamless and extensive quick controls.

With this new approach, customers can edit the control center with shortcuts from the control center gallery. This level of customization isn’t available on iOS 17 and before. Craig showcased the new FordPass app’s quick control and placed it inside the control center.

Ford also updated the FordPass app to version 5.0 and it comes with better stability for iOS users with an improved design. Two quick-access controls have been added including Climate and Lock.

With these quick controls, users can manage the climate control of the Ford vehicle or lock/unlock directly from the control center without opening the app first

“Excited to see Ford featured in Apple’s WWDC24 keynote! The redesigned Control Center on iPhone and iPad brings new levels of customization and easier access to frequently used controls. With the FordPass app, vehicle owners will have another way to quickly access key features like climate control, right from the control center.” wrote Farley on X on Tuesday.

You can also set the app controls to the Action button available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The redesigned control center with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 is currently available only for developers. It will roll out widely for all users this fall via over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
