Hyundai announces INSTER electric EV, check teaser images

Hyundai Motor has announced its new INSTER sub-compact electric vehicle (EV) and shared teaser images along with a few details about its design and features.

This new announcement follows Kia EV3, a new electric SUV and it’ll released in July in Korea. However, the teaser images confirm that the INSTER will be different from the Kia EV3.

The automaker explains that “INSTER” is derived from Intimate and Innovative. It is a new energy version of Korea exclusive, petrol engine CASPER released in 2021.

It was the smallest crossover SUV ever offered by the South Korean brand. The car had dimensions below 3,600 mm (141.7 inches) in length, 1,600 mm (63 inches) in width, and 2,400 mm (94.5 inches) wheelbase. INSTER EV likely to adjust itself around these dimensions but with advanced looks and an electric driving system.

The teaser images show this EV will be equipped with signature LED daytime running lights. It will feature pixel-graphic turn signals and redesigned tailamps.

The front of the car has an LED horizontal bar on the frunk, followed by two circular headlamps including high and low beams. This EV has a hatch-style rear with “inster” text below the Hyundai logo. The taillights are adding weight to the overall appearance.

There’s not much to be seen in the images but Hyundai has revealed other information about this new EV.

This electric car will come with a 355 km (WLTP) range on a single charge, which converts to 220 miles. Moreover, the INSTER will make a global debut at the Busan International Mobility Show starting on June 28 in Korea. The press day of this event will be hosted on June 27 and the show will continue until July 7, 2024.
