Tesla is releasing a Full Self Driving (FSD) 12.4.1 software upgrade for employees. This new FSD version has been delayed since last month and comes with a crucial improvement. Notateslaapp reports that the FSD 12.4.1 version is rolling with the 2024.15.5 software update. However, it’s limited to the internal test phase and not for the public.

Last month, Tesla released the 2024.9.5 software update with the FSD 12.4 version. This version too remained limited to Tesla employees. A few days ago, the Tesla CEO shared an estimated rollout date for FSD 12.4.1. The Tesla chief said the external customers will get this update this weekend.

Despite previous revelations, the FSD 12.4 rollout is currently under delay mode. Aside from 12.4, the company is already testing FSD 12.5 and 12.6 versions but there are no specific details available about the features.

No Wheel Nag

The FSD version brings a new driver monitoring system using the cabin camera to detect driver attentiveness. This new feature addresses previous issues and driver monitoring warnings that rely on wheel torque.

The new solution will continue to use torque-based solutions alongside vision-based monitoring to detect driver attention to the driveway. This safety feature for self-driving cars works as a reminder when the driver diverts attention from the traffic in the front. The new driver monitoring system removes wheel nag for a better user experience for FSD supervisors.
