Tesla today officially announced new 2024.20 software update features and confirmed the rollout for eligible cars. This software branch includes three new improvements for the car’s driving and internal experience.

Earlier this year, Tesla released adaptive headlights for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. This capability increases nighttime visibility for the driver by adapting high beams according to the incoming traffic.

It dims some of the headlights pixels for the other lane where the traffic is approaching. Meanwhile, the car keeps the current lane illuminated. The headlight goes full beam when the incoming traffic passes through.

The 2024.20 update adapts curves for adaptive headlights to turn the beam radius in the road ahead and illuminate more when you drive on a highway. Curve adapt will be available for cars in the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and South Korea.

How Weather Improvements

The automatic mode now cools the cabin much faster than before in hot weather. Other than that, the cooling helps regulate the HV battery temperature for better charging performance. The high voltage (HV) battery is a crucial component of an electric car and its temperature affects the charging time.

We can notice a similar concern during winter which requires the charge port to be heated. This update improves the battery temperature management especially while using the Supercharger. By keeping the battery under a nominal temperature the EV can charge at full charging capacity.

This update will also be available for the Tesla Cybertruck electric truck and AC is now quieter than before.
