  • Perform tasks
  • Manipulate data
  • Improve dynamic results
  • Improve response accuracy

Tools have a wide range of use-cases and dynamic interfaces which could help support providing a diverse range of responses in natural language. Developers can define a toolset for Claude and specify requests in natural language. Claude will select a tool to complete the task with the following actions.

  1. It can extract structured data from unstructured to pull names, dates, and amounts from invoices to reduce manual data entry.
  2. It can convert natural language requests into structured API calls to enable teams to provide common actions including canceling subscriptions with simple commands.
  3. It can answer questions by searching databases or using web APIs to provide instant, reliable responses to customers’ inquiries in support chatbots.
  4. Actions also include automating simple tasks through software APIs to save time and reduce errors in data entry or file management.
  5. It can automatically find the optimal meeting time based on attendee availability.

That’s not it, Anthropics also improved the developer experience to build a better response system with tools. Here are some of the useful additions in this section. Developers can reduce wait times with tools for better interactions. It enables real-time responses in applications such as customer support chatbots for seamless and natural conversations.

Developers can instruct Claude to use and leave tools accordingly to improve stability and efficiency. Furthermore, Claude also supports image inputs in live applications.
