How to watch Apple WWDC24: iOS 18 and next-gen AI
Apple will kick off the Worldwide Developers Conference 2024 (WWDC24) keynote on June 10 and you can watch the entire revelations including iOS 18 online.
The WWDC24 keynote will start at 10 a.m. PDT on June 10 and the event will broadcast on apple.com. The company will also share live feeds on the Apple Developer app, Apple TV app, and YouTube channel. Replay footage available on these platforms to explore announcements after the keynote ends.
AI Era
This year’s WWDC will be different with Apple ushering into the generative AI and cloud computing. The Cupertino-based tech firm will reveal new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and watchOS. However, iOS in particular will take the center of the stage to demonstrate AI capabilities.
Previous reports suggest that iOS 18 will ease interactions for iPhone users. That includes better Siri assistant which could use OpenAI’s latest language model to help you find more with natural language processing.
The company will upgrade system apps including Safari, Photos, and Notes with new on-device AI transcriptions for voice memos, AI image editing tools, and spotlight searches.
Personalization could also get better with new home screen customizations. iOS 18 could help you to arrange icons at your will without any restrictions. You may also change the color of the app icons based on your preference.
AI may let you create emojis with a text prompt and improve the selection for your text conversations or posting a favorite one online. Furthermore, AI will help to manage your system notifications and create a history of missed notifications.
Earlier this month, Apple announced new accessibility features – eye tracking, music haptics, vocal shortcuts, and atypical speech and vehicle motion cues. These are just a few of the additions we’ve seen running online but the company certainly has more surprises coming at the WWDC24 event.
Schedule
Keynote is not the only exciting thing, as Apple organized developers-only activities. Developers can tune in at 1 p.m. on June 10 to watch Platforms State of the Union dive into newly announced software.
Developers will have a chance to meet Apple experts through online labs and consultations for insights on the latest technologies and guidance on best practices. More than 100 technical sessions are planned for the WWDC24 week. That includes Apple engineers, designers, and other experts.
Swift student challenge and Apple Design Awards will also be announced at WWDC24.
