Tesla launches ‘Lunar Silver’ color for Model X and S

Tesla has listed a new “Lunar Silver” color for Model S and X in the US. This new paint is available as the company keeps making the options interesting for customers.

Tesla is keen on making the silver available for all of its models and the company started this trend in the US earlier this month by launching Quicksilver for Model Y. This paint is available for Long Range and Performance Model Y with an additional price tag of $2,000.

The paint looks good on the car as it shows bright and dark shades based on the lighting condition. The Quicksilver paint has a 13-layer paint process that involves coating, a clear coat, and various metallic and color layers to bring depth.

Compared to Quicksilver, the new Lunar Silver features a clean silver with a pronounced metallic effect and subtle blue tint. Thus providing this EV a whole new appearance.

Tesla Model S and Model X customers can now opt for the new lunar silver color for an additional $2,500. These two cars are available in five other colors including:

• Stealth Gray – Free
• Pearl White Multi-Coat – $1,500
• Deep Blue Metallic – $1,500
• Solid Black – $1,500
• Ultra Red – $2,500

As of May 23, the Tesla Model X is priced at $77,990 for the all-wheel drive version and Plaid at $92,990. However, only AWD is eligible for a $7,500 Federal tax credit.

Model S on the other hand is priced at $72,990 for the AWD version and $87,990 for Plaid. These two models are also not eligible for Federal tax credit. Last month, the EV company introduced a new sports seat for the model to provide more comfort and improved stability.
