Kia EV3 Unveiled: Accessible and Featured Packed EV

Kia has unveiled its new Kia EV3 a dedicated compact electric vehicle (EV) SUV. It is designed to be accessible to customers and features a package for a better user experience.

The front of the car features vertical headlamps to create a wide stance. The front has a Tiger Face design integrating the latest Star map signature lighting concept. Its vertically arranged Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) emphasize the tiger face for a bold look.

It has a long sloping roofline which transitions into a hatchback-style tailgate. The car features a dynamic silhouette and the cabin has a spacious interior. The rear side offers a thick black trim line to show the connection between the C-pillar design and the roofline. The geometric rear lamp is designed to connect with the rear glass.

Customers of this new EV can choose from eight color options and two of these – Adventurine Green and Terracotta are designed exclusively for this new model.

The EV3 GT-line brings a rugged appearance. The car integrates a lower bumper to create a sportier look. It has vertical and horizontal graphics with large black-clad areas. The rear side gets a triangle wing configuration on the lower bumper.

Interior

Kia EV3 incorporated a new sliding table and storage area. The lower part can store drinks, snacks, and small backpacks. The interior enhances the driver’s mood with multi-adjustable ambient lighting. It improves comfort with new seats which can fold back for relaxed mode.

The frunk has a 25-liter and a 460-liter rear load capacity to place luggage. The adjustable two-tier luggage board provides over 140mm of load height. You will also see a 30-inch widescreen. It includes a 12.3-inch cluster, 5-inch air-conditioner and 12.3-inch AVN display.

This full screen enables the user to touch interactions for climate control features and clear graphics and information to the driver. EV3 brings drive mode, cruise control, entertainment, and navigation.

This new EV model will come in different interior colors, materials, and trim finishes – Air, Earth, and Water elements. The interior includes Subtle Grey and warm Grey, and GT-Line gets exclusive Onyx black.

Drivetrain

EV3 is 4,300mm long, 1,850mm wide, and 1,560mm tall with 2,680mm wheelbase. The car has a front-wheel drive electric powertrain based on the Electric Global Module Platform (E-GMP).

The car has a fourth-generation battery, the standard version features a 58.3kWh battery and the long-range brings an 81.4kkWh battery. These two models utilize a 150kW/283Nm electric motor to enable 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds. The EV3 offers 170km/h top speed.

Customers will experience advanced body aerodynamics with full 3D undercover to deliver a low drag of 0.263 CD. Under the hood, it packs battery management unit (BMU) and Cell Monitoring Unit (CMU) technology to ensure 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh high-voltage battery systems for high efficiency.

In terms of performance, the Kia EV3 estimated up to 600km (WLTP) range and could charge 10-80 percent battery in approximately 31 minutes.

Deliveries

Kia EV3 will start delivering in Korea in July 2024, followed by Europe in the second half of this year. The carmaker will expand this car to more regions after the European launch.
