EPA certifies new Tesla Model 3 Performance driving range
EPA has officially certified the new Tesla Model 3 Performance driving range in the United States and it estimates this electric car to drive 303 miles. This new EPA range is higher than the 296 miles estimated by Tesla. The rear wheel drive (RWD) version offers 272 miles of EPA range and the Long Range offers 341 miles.
Tesla Model 3 Performance is priced at $54,990 and it’s eligible for Federal tax credit to take the price down to $47,490. However, the price was $52,990 initially and increased twice after its release last month.
This new Model 3 Performance comes with the latest-gen Performance drive unit. It generates up to 510 hp peak power and 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds.
The EV maker has improved the handling response with this new car using an adapting damping system. It keeps the Model 3 Performance grounded and helps to tackle corners at high speed with increased control.
Tesla has improved the aerodynamic factors in this new Model 3 Performance featuring a new front and rear fascias, rear diffuser, and carbon fiber spoiler. These two work in tandem to reduce drag and improve lift balance.
It equips new forged wheels with lightweight aero inserts with Pirelli tires designed for a quiet driving experience. Behind the wheels, there are large brake rotors, calipers, and brake pads for optimum braking experience. The chassis has been improved with new springs, dampers, bushing, and stabilizer bars for maximum ride control.
Inside the car, you will see new sports seats for high stability during speedy rides. These seats offer ventilation and heating features as well. The interior is furnished with carbon fiber decor and a refined weave pattern. The company has installed 17 speakers, dual subwoofers, and dual amplifiers for maximized sound quality.
