iPhone 16 display production to start next month
Apple has some new dimensions for the display of the iPhone 16 series and these configurations will start production in the first half of this year.
Display supply chain analyst Ross Young said that this year’s iPhone 16 series display production will start somewhere in June. The current projection aims at volume production for iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models. The scheduled production will enable Apple to assemble these volume-based models first in the row, followed by Plus and Pro Max devices.
The display is the most important component in the supply chain and Apple procures its display requirements through LG, Samsung, and BOE (in some cases). This year, Apple will differentiate the sizes of four models.
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus features 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes respectively. Similar sizes followed parrall in 15 Pro and Pro Max models. However, the iPhone 16 Pro could get a 0.2-inch increase to 6.3-inch and Pro Max with a similar addition, will expand to 6.9-inch.
Meanwhile, iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will carry the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes. You can expect the screen to maintain its dynamic island notch on the head.
Other than these changes, Apple will bring new Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to iPhone 16 models for added new experience.
