SpaceX launches 23 Starlink satellites mission (May 12, 2024)

On May 12, 2024, SpaceX sent a new Falcon 9 launch vehicle mission into orbit with a payload of 23 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit.

The liftoff took place from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on a targeted launch window at 8:53 p.m. ET.

The launch comes as the company has been managing Starlink satellites amid the most powerful geomagnetic storm in a decade. However, SpaceX confirmed that the satellites are holding quite well and remain healthy.

The first stage booster for this mission completed its 15th flight and landed on a droneship post-stage separation milestone. The booster previously supported missions including SES-22, ispace’s HAKUTO-R MISSION 1, Amazonas-6, CRS-27, Bandwagon-1, and now 10 Starlink missions.
